Citizens Program On Fire!

In January, participants of the Citizens Program attended a Fire Safety Training and Tour at the Barrington, IL Fire Department. Assistant Fire Chief, Chris Toussaint led the group through the Fire House providing valuable safety information & answering questions from participants.
Attendees were right in the action, hearing the fire alarms set off, watching the firemen prepare for an emergency call, donning the heavy fire jacket and helmet, and climbing aboard the big red fire truck!
Assistant Fire Chief Toussaint explained the purpose of each emergency vehicle in their giant garage as everyone learned about the tools firemen use, the amount of water pressure behind fire hoses, and what the different colored emergency lights mean.
Not only did everyone learn about safety, but they all had a blast at the fire house, too! |
